One becomes there in a short time immensely rich or totally ruined. We show up there and we disappear there. We talk there and, suddenly, we melt into the black silent waters of its sleeping lagoon. Sumptuous villas are built there that rival each other in beauty. One evening we are there Prince and the next day...What does it matter!
 We are dizzy in the party while Venice laughs at its secrets, its mysteries. She engenders them, she protects them.
